Thanks to a NETA Grant... my students will be able to participate in four different virtual labs with the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. We will learn about penguins, the ocean, the desert, and the rainforest. My students loved learning about the ocean today!view image

Today at about 1:20pm, fire alarms triggered at Northside. The fire department responded. There was NO flames, fire, or heavy smoke. There was a smell of hot plastic and a haze in the air. Students were quickly and safely moved to gathering areas outside the school. Students were NOT in danger and were safe at all times.
Due to the length of time it took to locate the source of the unknown problem, students were moved to the Central Office for access to restrooms and for parent pick-up. Northside staff handled this unexpected problem in exemplary fashion. The remaining students and staff returned to Northside at 2:57 after the all clear was given.
The cause of the problem was found to be a shorted control board located in the air handling unit in the ceiling in the 2nd grade wing. The control board will be repaired and Northside will be ready for students tomorrow morning. Buses will run as normal this afternoon and clubs will be available for any remaining students at Northside.
